GENERAL INFO

This GB CompNet Tournament is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition for kids, juveniles, adults (male and female), and masters divisions in the gi for all belt levels.

The tournament is round-robin for kids 8 years old and younger; single elimination for every else unless manually updated by the CompNet Organizer based on the number of competitors in the division.

Medals will be awarded to 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place of each division. Two bronze medals will be given to the kid's divisions.

Athletes will receive a complimentary event t-shirt which they should pick up at the event. All shirts must be picked up at the event's shirt booth on the day of the event.

Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their valid photo identification (ID) to the officials. Make sure you have it on hand.

The CompNet Organizer reserves the right to close registration when we reach full capacity or on the day of the appointed event registration deadline, whichever comes first.

UNIFORM

All CompNet athletes are required to weigh in and compete wearing their official Gracie Barra uniform: kimono (gi), rashguard, and belt.

GI MEASUREMENTS

The GI top should reach the athlete’s thigh and the sleeves should come to no more than 5 cm from the athlete’s wrist when the arm is extended straight parallel to the ground.

GI pants should reach no more than 2 in above the tibial malleolus (ankle bone).

In addition to the above, the inspection (also known as gi check) will verify whether the following official measurements are met: gi lapel thickness (0.5 in), the width of GI collar (2 in), the opening of the sleeve at full extension (2.7 In).

BELT REQUIREMENTS

Athletes should use a durable, 2 in cm wide belt colored according to the athlete’s rank. The belt should be worn over the top, wrap around the waist twice, and tied using a double knot tight enough to hold the gi top closed. Once tied in a double knot, each end of the belt should hang 8 to 11 inches in length.

OTHER UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

Wearing pants of any kind under gi pants is prohibited, except for women, who are permitted to use pants made of elastic fabric (clings to body) under the gi pants, as long as these pants are shorter than the gi pants.

Athletes must use undergarments. The use of thong-type undergarments is not permitted; only briefs-type undergarments.

Kimono (top and bottom) may not exhibit mending or tears, be wet or dirty, or emanate unpleasant odors.

WEIGH-INS

All athletes should fight and weigh in with the gi. Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight with the gi, rashguard and belt. There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division prior to the Athlete Correction Deadline. No changes to athlete's weight class or division will be accepted on the day of the tournament day.

Review the weight charts below for the official weight measurement used in the tournament. Example: -107.0 lbs (Rooster) means athletes must weigh 107.0 lbs or below with their gi on. 107.1 lbs will result in disqualification.
